Hemp rope / hemlock planks / steel cables.

A treacherous path through a strewn-boulder zone connects a camp to its lakeside sun and swim place.

Idea: how about a suspension foot bridge to by-pass.

Collaborative effort was lead by todd richardson, included albert putnam (engineer). feel guided many decisions (deliberate amount of 'sway' was biilt-in, to keep a sense for the passage).

Hemp rope ended up being the most stable, re stretch. bark-on white cedar posts were hollowed to conceal steel posts, structure.

Bridge now avoids disturbing the delicate forest floor below.
